The Tree and the Reed

The Tree and the Reed

An Aesop's Fable

"All things considered, minimal one," said a Tree to a Reed that was developing at its foot, "why do you not plant your feet profoundly in the ground, and bring your head strongly up noticeable all around as I do?"

"I am placated with my parcel," said the Reed. "I may not be so fabulous, but rather I think I am more secure."

"Safe!" jeered the Tree. "Who should cull me up by the roots or bow my head to the ground?" But it soon needed to atone of its gloating, for a tropical storm emerged which shredded it from its roots, and cast it a pointless log on the ground, while the little Reed,

bowing to the power of the twist, soon stood upright again when the tempest had ignored.
