paragraph on my favourite game (cricket)

 My favorite game (cricket)

I play many games such as basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton, but cricket is my favorite sport. It’s a unique game that is played wonderfully between the two teams, each having 11 players & 2-3 substitutes. Out of these 11 players 5-6 players are batsman and rest are fielders & bowlers & one wicket keeper.
The team is lead by a skipper. Overall it’s a team game that is played by unity and focus. It’s a one day match game. Now a day’s cricket is played for the duration of 3-4 hours too. There is a big ground called field which has a pitch with bales and stamps and 2 ends.
One batsman is placed towards each end. They score the runs by running among the pitches. 2 umpires are placed in between the 2 pitches. The 3rd umpire is made to sit in the room and watch the match with the help of a video. The ground umpires has to keep a live check over the batsman and bowlers playing in the field & take fair decision on revealing the wickets. The wickets are either run out, catch and stamp out.
The ground umpires judge the bowls thrown as leg by, no ball, wide ball etc. When the 2 umpires are unable to take a decision over the wickets, they signal the 3rd umpire to take a decision. He cross checks the situation and declare the runs.
The winning team is awarded with a big trophy. One player is awarded as the “Man of the Match”. He is chosen as the best performer throughout the game from the players of the winning team. During the course of the match the scores are raised on the basis of the number of runs the batsmen are scoring.
Four runs are raised in the scoring board of the playing team if the cricket ball touches the boundary-line while playing. When the player hits the ball beyond the boundary without touching the ground 6 runs are raised on the scoring board.
The 2 batsmen run between the pitch to score more runs. A skipper plays a very important role during the course of a match. He guiles the fielder and leads the entire team and also discuss with the bowlers in case of a glitch. He also communicates with the umpires on behalf of his team. His approval is also required in selecting the team.
The wicket keeper also is the essence of the entire team. He is placed at the back of the stamps to keep a check over each ball. He cannot change his location like other team members. There are bowlers that are categorized as spin bowlers, fast bowlers etc. Their role is to take wickets in fewer balls and restricts the batsman from scoring runs by bating. The batsmen try to score as much runs as possible to win the match.
